In physics, law stating that the direction of
an electromagnetically induced current
(generated by moving a magnet near a wire or
a wire in a magnetic field) will oppose the
motion producing it. It is named after the
German physicist Heinrich Friedrich Lenz
(1804-65), who announced it in 1833.
